Huawei Exec Arrested On Spying Charges In Poland

The Polish intelligence service has arrested a Chinese citizen suspected of spying in the country. In response, Huawei said it had fired Weijing Wang for bringing the company into "disrepute." According to CNN, Polish state media identified the suspect as Huawei's sales director for Poland. Huawei is a Chinese telecommunications company viewed by the US government as a national security risk. Poland and the US aren't the only countries that have concerns about Huawei. The company's also been prevented from supplying next-generation 5G equipment to Australia and New Zealand. CFO Meng Wanzhou was arrested in Canada in December, on suspicion of violating US sanctions on Iran.
