A ferry carrying more than 500 people catches fire near San Juan, Puerto Rico. Linda So reports.
Soldiers and civilians in South Korea board a ferry heading to Yeonpyeong island, where residents were ordered on Friday to evacuate to, after North Korea carried out artillery training near the Northern Limit Line (NLL). Yeonpyeong, with about 2,000 residents, is around 115 kilometres (70 miles) west of Seoul. Local officials said residents had been told to evacuate to shelters as a "preventative measure" ahead of a South Korean military drill that was prompted by North Korea's artillery barrage. IMAGES
Fires in Greece this summer will burn an area of at least 150,000 hectares (370,600), the Greek prime minister says including a large fire in the north which has been burning for nearly two weeks. The area ravaged by fires "will exceed 1,500,000,000 square metres (150,000 hectares)... the most serious one was the one at Dadia forest", says Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, referring to the forest fire that the EU has branded the largest ever recorded in the bloc. Images of a fire at an industrial site in the port of La Rochelle, western France. According to the Charente-Maritime prefecture, the fire broke out at around 8.00 am on a cereal loading conveyor belt, which carries the grain to the top of the silos, at a height of 40 metres. IMAGES
