The Council of International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) voted unanimously to extend the ban of Russian athletes from competing internationally following a major doping scandal. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).

World Athletics announces that it had suspended the reinstatement process of Russian athletics and is contemplating expelling Russia entirely from the sport. SOUNDBITE
The World Anti-Doping Agency says it has found a "deeply rooted culture of cheating" in Russian athletes and is recommending that Russia's Athletics Federation be banned from international competition over widespread doping offences. Jillian Kitchener reports.
The United States says that a Russian ban on US-funded Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty shows Moscow's efforts to deny open information. "It is quite clear that they do not want their people to have information about what the Russian regime does abroad, what the Russian regime does to its own people," State Department spokesman Matthew Miller tells reporters.
