To that profile, it adds the capability on and off the beaten track that has defined Volvo's Cross Country range since its introduction in 1997, taking the V60 from the suburb to the skogen (Swedish for forest).Ground clearance for the Volvo V60 Cross Country is up to 75mm higher than the regular V60, thanks to the specially developed Cross Country chassis and suspension that enhance the car's off-road capability. All-wheel-drive is standard on the new V60 Cross Country, as are Hill Descent Control, Electronic Stability Control, Corner Traction Control and a special Off-Road driving mode.Like its 60 Series and 90 Series stablemates, the new V60 Cross Country benefits from Volvo Cars' award-winning Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, safety technology and infotainment system.The new Volvo V60 Cross Country is also available through Volvo Cars' premium subscription service Care by Volvo, which offers car access via a monthly flat-fee subscription rather than ownership.
The 2019 V60 is built on the scalable SPA platform, just like the 90 cars and the mid-sized XC60 SUV. That means it features the same active and passive safety technologies, as well as the semi-autonomous Pilot Assist system and the touchscreen-focused Sensus infotainment introduced with the XC90. As far as the exterior design goes compared to the also SPA-based V90 and V90 Cross Country, this time around, Volvo could play around a bit more with the light, both in order to break up the mass visually, and to give the 60 models a more dominant stance. This tightened look is a requirement in this segment, not to mention that the V60 is also destined to spawn a Polestar variant sometime in the future. Still, if you ever saw a V90 with the R-Design package in the wild, the V60 won't cause a heart attack. While other markets get two diesel options until the world gives up on them for good, Volvo's American offering starts with the front-wheel drive T5 (specs to be confirmed) and the all-wheel drive T6. This car packs 310 horsepower and 295 ft.-lbs. of torque, giving it a zero-to-sixty time of 5.8 seconds. Both plug-in hybrids are a full second quicker off the line, with the T6 Twin Engine having a peak output of 340 (253 gas+87 electric) horses and 435 ft.-lbs. of torque. Figures of the the top-of-the-line T8 variant should be familiar too, as this hybrid pushes you forward with 390 horsepower (303+87) and 472 foot-pounds. The latter gives the T8 a tow rating of 4409 lbs. as well, because you might have a cabin by the lake, and therefore, a boat.

Volvo Cars revealed the refreshed versions of the S90 sedan and the V90/V90 Cross Country estate models, including a refined exterior design and a brand new, state-of-the-art sound system by Bowers and Wilkins.In a broader portfolio upgrade, the company's 48 volt mild hybrid powertrain options are now available on every Volvo model, further boosting the company's electrified offer.In terms of exterior design, Volvo designers have introduced a number of refinements on both the front and rear of the Volvo S90 and V90, including new fog lights, a new spoiler design and a new lower front bumper.On the Volvo V90 and V90 Cross Country, the most striking feature is a brand new rear light design, including full LED-powered signature lighting and a sequential turn indicator. A range of new exterior colours and wheel options further improve options for personalisation.Inside, a comprehensively upgraded Bowers and Wilkins audio system introduces an even better in-car sound experience, thanks to new features like an upgraded amplifier, automatic vehicle noise cancellation and a new setting that mimics the sound of your favourite jazz club.Another new feature inside is an Advanced Air Cleaner with a PM 2.5 particle sensor. First developed for the Chinese market and now rolled out globally, it allows drivers to monitor interior air quality via the centre screen. If desired, the Advanced Air Cleaner can clean the cabin air of almost all tiny particles within a few minutes.Both the new Bowers & Wilkins audio system and the Advanced Air Cleaner technology are now available on all 90 and 60 Series models based on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA).
