Russian President Vladimir Putin meets with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Moscow to discuss what the Russian leader described as an "escalation" in the Middle East. The United States calls on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to emphasize Ukraine's territorial integrity as he meets in Russia with President Vladimir Putin on the eve of a NATO summit in Washington.
