At the 2018 Paris Motor Show, ŠKODA is presenting itself not just as sporty and sustainable, but also as a mobility services provider. The Czech brand is inviting the show’s visitors to a special digital experience from 2 to 14 October: At the ŠKODA stand in the User Experience corner, they can go through a fictional day as an avatar that they have created themselves and be guided through tailor made digital offers. With the VISION RS concept study ŠKODA offers a look ahead in Paris, presenting a future compact car and the next stage of development for the sporty RS family. A family that now includes its first ever SUV – the ŠKODA KODIAQ RS. The SPORTLINE and SCOUT variants expand the range for the ŠKODA KAROQ compact SUV. The ŠKODA OCTAVIA G-TEC is more powerful and offers a greater range when running on environmentally friendly natural gas (CNG).
Skoda plans to introduce a go-fast ‘RS’ variant of the Skoda Kodiaq this year. The Skoda Kodiaq RS could debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show in October.The Skoda Kodiaq RS will look more aggressive than the regular models. At the front, it may feature black upper grille frame, RS logo on the upper grille, larger lower air intake and sharper bumper with honeycomb air inlets. On the sides, changes may include 20- or 21-inch alloy wheels in a distinctive design, contrasting mirror housing and red brake callipers. The rear section should differ with a sportier bumper with integrated diffuser, RS logo on the tailgate and dual stainless steel exhaust pipes.Inside, black is likely to dominate the colour scheme of the Skoda Kodiaq RS. Other main features may include sports seats, RS logo on the door sills and seat covers and aluminium-finish pedals.The Skoda Kodiaq RS may come with 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines, exclusively in AWD. No details are available, but the British publication says that the company may use a reconfigured version of the VW Golf R’s 310 PS 2.0-litre engine for the petrol model. The new range-topping variant will likely have sports chassis that lowers the body. Stiffer suspension setup should make the large SUV’s drive a little more exhilarating.
SKODA sent racing driver Sabine Schmitz into the ‘Green Hell’ for a record-breaking lap in the new SKODA Kodiaq RS, even before the new top-of-the-range model is launched. In doing so, the Czech car manufacturer is giving an indication of the seven-seater SUV’s extraordinary performance. What’s more: a teaser video reveals how intently the extremely professional team prepared the high-performance SUV, which was covered in a sporty camouflage design, for its successful record attempt on the Nürburgring’s legendary Nordschleife. The clips whet viewers’ appetite for the new SKODA Kodiaq RS; the full video will be released on 14 June. The SKODA Kodiaq RS will make its official debut in October at the 2018 Paris Motor Show.

Under the bonnet, the Skoda Karoq Sportline underlines its sporty ambitions with a 140 kW 2.0 TSI engine (190 PS), which is exclusively reserved for this variant of the Karoq model range. The all-wheel drive, which comes as standard when combined with this engine, further improves the car's agile handling and offers additional safety. The 18-inch Mytikas alloy wheels and numerous elements such as the radiator grille and rear diffuser - all in gloss black - give the exterior a sporty look. In the interior, other sporty highlights include black sports seats with new fabric covers and contrasting silver stitching, the multifunction sports steering wheel and stainless-steel pedal covers. A special logo on the infotainment system screen welcomes the driver. The optional virtual cockpit features a special Sportline layout."
"The Skoda Kodiaq RS is the first Czech brand's SUV to bear the RS initials. The engine found in the Skoda Kodiaq RS produces 176 kW (240 PS), making it the most powerful production diesel in the history of Skoda. It offers a particularly emotive engine note thanks to Dynamic Sound Boost - which is making its debut in a Skoda. This perfectly complements the power of the Skoda Kodiaq RS, which holds the lap record for seven-seater SUVs on the Nürburgring's Nordschleife with a time of 9 minutes, 29.84 seconds. The initials RS now represent the perfect combination of a sporty driving experience and excellent suitability for daily use. The Skoda Kodiaq RS is now the brand's first ever SUV to bear these initials steeped in tradition. The extraordinarily dynamic capabilities - both on and off the road - and the powerful appearance of the Skoda Kodiaq RS complement the sporty lifestyle of a constantly growing target group in the SUV segment excellently. The Skoda Kodiaq RS is the sporty top-of-the-range model and the dynamic driving performance is worthy of this status. The Skoda Kodiaq RS can accelerate from a standing start to 100 km/h in just seven seconds and has a top speed of 220 km/h. The engine's tractive power at lower engine speeds is also impressive: maximum torque is already available between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm. Fuel consumption of just 6 l of diesel per 100 km illustrates the engine's high level of efficiency. CO2 emissions are 157 g/km. A variety of technical factors make this possible: the biturbo engine in theŠkoda Kodiaq RS features direct injection, a Stop-Start system and brake energy recovery, for example. It also has a sophisticated thermo-management system, which swiftly brings the engine up to operating temperature once the ignition is switched on."
"The SKODA VISION RS plug-in hybrid drive combines the 1.5-liter TSI with an output of 110 kW (150 hp) and an electric motor providing 75 kW (102 hp). They unite to deliver a system output of 180 kW (245 hp), which accelerates the concept study from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds, making the intermediate sprint from 80 to 120 km/h in 8.9 seconds. In total, the compact athlete emits only 33g of CO2 per kilometre. On battery power alone, the model can cover distances of up to 70km, ensuring zero-emission local driving. The lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 13 kWh can be charged by cable in 2.5 hours at a charging station. Alternatively, the SKODA VISION RS can be plugged into any household socket or charged while driving through energy recovery. Xirallic crystal sparkle effect paint make the brilliant white finish of the SKODA VISION RS shimmer with a subtle blue effect. Organic components in the paint reflect heat, thereby reducing the interior temperature. Numerous black carbon elements affixed to the body create distinctive contrasts to the white paint. The high-tech material widely used in motorsport is featured in the redesigned radiator grille, front and rear spoilers, exterior mirrors, side sills, air inlets and outlets, and the rear diffuser."
