Former OPEC president Diezani Alison-Madueke leaves a London court after appearing over bribery charges relating to her time as Nigeria's oil minister. The UK's National Crime Agency says Alison-Madueke allegedly benefitted from at least £100,000 in cash, chauffeur-driven cars, flights and luxury holidays accepted as rewards "for awarding multi-million pound contracts". The 63-year-old was arrested in October 2015, shortly after which her family's lawyer said she would strongly contest the allegations. IMAGES
During a presentation of the latest European economic forecasts for 2022 and 2023, EU economy commissioner Paolo Gentiloni says that "inflation has continued to rise faster than expected, but we believe that the peak is near. Most likely at the end of this year".
