The MINI Electric Pacesetter inspired by JCW is the new Safety Car for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship race series. As such, it connects the brand’s electrified future with the rich racing history of John Cooper Works. The car was created out of the new MINI Cooper SE as part of an unprecedented collaboration between MINI Design, BMW Motorsport, the FIA and the Formula E.
Spring will not be long in coming. A particularly attractive harbinger of the warm season is already on the roads these days. With the market launch of the new MINI Convertible, the brand-typical driving pleasure and extroverted style in a small car reach an even higher level. The open four-seater of the British premium brand now underlines its unmistakable charisma with a clear and reduced design. The fresh accents on the exterior are expressed particularly intensively in conjunction with the exterior paint in the new Zesty Yellow variant available exclusively for the MINI Convertible.The powerful bright yellow colour emphasises the lively appearance of the MINI Convertible. At the front of the vehicle, it also adorns the bumper strip, which serves as the number plate holder and is now no longer painted in black but always in the same colour as the car. The minimalist design language also brings the design features characteristic of the brand even more into focus. The hexagonal radiator grille has gained in size and presence, while black inner housings now make the round headlights look even more expressive. With LED units as standard, they provide bright and even illumination of the road. Vertical air inlets for the air curtains have replaced the fog lights.
Introducing the most powerful models ever approved for public road use in the brand’s sixty year history; the MINI John Cooper Works Clubman and MINI John Cooper Works Countryman.The 306hp 4-cylinder turbo engine in the new MINI John Cooper Works Clubman (fuel consumption combined: 38.1 – 39.8 mpg; CO2 emissions combined: 169 – 161g/km) and the new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman (fuel consumption combined: 38.7 – 40.9 mpg; CO2 emissions combined: 166 –156g/km) both provide outstanding performance, combined as standard with a new 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission and an ALL4 all-wheel drive system.The latest generation of the 4-cylinder engine developed for the John Cooper Works models with MINI TwinPower Turbo technology exceeds that of the previous engine by 75hp at maximum output. Maximum torque has also increased by 100Nm to 450Nm, and acceleration performance has improved.The new MINI John Cooper Works Clubman boasts acceleration of 0 to 62mph in 4.9 seconds, with the new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman achieving the same in 5.1 seconds – 1.4 and 1.5 seconds faster than in the respective previous models.

The MINI John Cooper Works (fuel consumption combined: 6.9 – 6.9 l/100 km with 6-speed manual gearbox, 6.2 – 6.1 l/100 km with 8-speed Steptronic transmission; combined CO2 emissions: 158 - 157 g/km with 6-speed manual gearbox, 142 – 140 g/km with 8-speed Steptronic transmission) and the MINI John Cooper Works Convertible (fuel consumption combined: 7.1 – 7.0 l/100 km with 6-speed gearbox. 6.5 – 6.4 l/100 km with 8-speed Steptronic transmission; combined CO2 emissions: 162 – 161 g/km with 6-speed gearbox. 148 – 145 g/km with 8-speed Steptronic gearbox) will be equipped as standard with petrol engine particulate filter to reduce particulate emissions from March 2019. The petrol engine particulate filter is now an integral component of the exhaust emissions purification technology on all petrol engine models of the MINI brand in the small car segment.In the MINI John Cooper Works and in the MINI John Cooper Works Convertible, the petrol engine particulate filter is integrated into the standard sports exhaust emissions system. This ensures that the dynamic power delivery of the 2.0 litre, 170 kW/231 hp 4-cylinder engine with MINI TwinPower Turbo technology generates a distinctively sporty sound while ensuring exemplary exhaust emissions behaviour. Both John Cooper Works models now meet the especially stringent Euro 6d TEMP emissions standard. The introduction of the latest exhaust emissions reduction technology has no influence on the exemplary fuel consumption and CO2 values of both top athletes.
