Volvo Cars, the premium car maker, revealed the new Cross Country version of its V60 mid-size estate. The rugged Volvo V60 Cross Country is the latest addition to the company's line-up of brand new Volvos that underpins the company's transformation in recent years.Like its V60 sibling that was launched earlier this year on the driveway of a Stockholm villa, the Volvo V60 Cross Country personifies the versatile Swedish family estate. To that profile, it adds the capability on and off the beaten track that has defined Volvo's Cross Country range since its introduction in 1997, taking the V60 from the suburb to the skogen (Swedish for forest).Ground clearance for the Volvo V60 Cross Country is up to 75mm higher than the regular V60, thanks to the specially developed Cross Country chassis and suspension that enhance the car's off-road capability. All-wheel-drive is standard on the new V60 Cross Country, as are Hill Descent Control, Electronic Stability Control, Corner Traction Control and a special Off-Road driving mode.Like its 60 Series and 90 Series stablemates, the new V60 Cross Country benefits from Volvo Cars' award-winning Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, safety technology and infotainment system.The new Volvo V60 Cross Country is also available through Volvo Cars' premium subscription service Care by Volvo, which offers car access via a monthly flat-fee subscription rather than ownership. Reflecting Volvo Cars' industry-first announcement to electrify all new cars from 2019, the Volvo V60 comes with two plug-in hybrid powertrain options: the new T6 Twin Engine AWD petrol plug-in hybrid that generates a combined 340 hp, or the T8 Twin Engine AWD petrol plug-in hybrid that delivers 390 hp.

The Volvo V90 Cross Country is “all-wheel-drive car of the year 2021”: The large all-road station wagon wins the import ranking in the “all-wheel-drive crossover” category, thereby defending its title. After 2020 and 2017, it is already the third success for the flagship in the prestigious readers' choice of the specialist magazine “Auto Bild Allrad”, which has now been taking place for 20 years. In the vote for “All-wheel-drive car of the year”, the readers of Europe's largest all-wheel-drive magazine choose their favorites with 4x4 technology every year. They determine the overall winner and the import winner in a total of ten categories. Two decades after the first readers' choice, this time there were 237 all-wheel-drive vehicles available on the German market to choose from. As in the previous year, the Volvo V90 Cross Country prevailed in the import ranking in the “all-wheel-drive crossover” class. With its title defense, the spacious station wagon, which cuts a good figure on and off paved roads thanks to its increased ground clearance and all-wheel drive, puts all six competitors in the spotlight.
