On Thursday, during his opening remarks, Donald Trump addressed the National Prayer Breakfast by talking about TV ratings. While speaking about the latter show's drop in viewership since he left the program, Trump said, "We know how that turned out. The ratings went right down the tubes. It's been a total disaster." He then went on to mention its new host Arnold Schwarzenegger saying, "And I want to just pray for Arnold if we can, for those ratings.

U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has challenged the European Union to significantly increase its target for cutting greenhouse gas emissions. According to Reuters, Guterres wants the EU to aim for a 55% cut in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, far more than the bloc’s current target for a 40% reduction. In a letter to European Council President Donald Tusk, Guterres said the world’s largest economic bloc should lead by example to avert the worst effects of global warming and limit temperature increases to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg says public figures have "failed to take" responsibility when it comes to fighting climate change. She was speaking at a summit organised by Hollywood star and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
