Germany To Recognize Guaido If Venezuela Fails To Hold Elections In 8 Days

According to a report by Reuters, on Saturday, a spokeswoman for the German government said that they are ready to recognize Juan Guaido as interim president of Venezuela if elections are not called in 8 days. Spokeswoman Martina Fietz said on Twitter, “If elections are not announced in eight days, we are ready to recognize Juan Guaido as interim president, who can initiate a political process (and) work with European partners." Reuters reports that, earlier on Saturday, both France and Spain made similar statements.
