Trump Postpones State Of The Union Address

U.S. President Donald Trump has decided to postpone his State of the Union address after disagreements with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Reuters reports Trump said Wednesday that the annual address will take place sometime after its originally scheduled date of Jan. 29. The announcement came after Pelosi disinvited him from speaking in the House, suggesting he delay the speech until the government reopens. Trump said it was Pelosi’s “prerogative” to cancel. The U.S. Constitution says that presidents “shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the State of the Union.”
