At the season opening round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge at Bathurst, Absolute Racing finished on fourth place as the best Porsche customer team. Three more Porsche 911 GT3 R finished the 12-hour race in Australia in the top ten. Porsche achieved a one-two in the Pro-Am class, with Grove Racing winning ahead of the NED Racing Team.

The Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport was driven on a racetrack in front of the public for the first time. At the wheel of the 700 hp vehicle sat the Porsche brand ambassador Mark Webber. The Australian thrilled home crowds at the famous Mount Panorama Circuit.

Mark Webber has not driven around Mount Panorama circuit since 1995. Now he is at the Bathurst 12 Hour to drive the GT2 RS Clubsport in demonstration laps, as well as support teams racing the 911 GT3 R.
