Land Rover marked its 70th anniversary with a global broadcast celebrating the world's favourite 4x4s and the people who love them – 70 years to the day since the first Land Rover made its debut at the Amsterdam Motor Show in 1948. The event paid tribute to seven decades of adventure, humanitarian aid and hard work; tracking Land Rover’s journey from a utility model at the end of the Second World War, to becoming the world’s favourite 4x4, with more than 7 million sold.
Jaguar Land Rover has taken another step towards a new era of electrification and connectivity by opening a facility to test the next generation of vehicles for electrical and radio interference. The Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) laboratory at Gaydon in the UK, will ensure future vehicles meet current and future legislation and quality standards for connectivity and electronics. New Range Rover Sport, which launched in May, was the first vehicle to undergo a bespoke testing programme at the in-house facility.A critical aspect of vehicle performance, EMC is the ability of electrical equipment and systems to function correctly in their electromagnetic environment. It works by limiting the unintentional generation, propagation and reception of electromagnetic energy to reduce the risk of unwanted effects such as electromagnetic interference.
Jaguar Land Rover is joining Her Majesty the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations, with 26 of its cars in the Platinum Jubilee Pageant on Sunday 5 June. British names Luke Evans, Bear Grylls OBE, Jason Robinson OBE, David Gandy and Jess Hawkins will show their support and get behind the wheel of the iconic vehicles. To further commemorate the Queen’s 70 years of dedicated service, Land Rover is giving the British Red Cross a new Defender 130 to support its operations in the UK.Land Rover engineers will work with representatives from the charity, of which the Queen is a patron, to adapt the Defender 130 before it goes into service. Land Rover has supported the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies since 1954.

Jaguar Land Rover is now introducing seamless Amazon Alexa integration to all new and existing models equipped with the state-of-the-art Pivi Pro infotainment system. Compatible vehicle owners will be able to take full advantage of intuitive voice commands and experiences thanks to a software-over-the-air (SOTA) update.The seamless integration now transports the Alexa experience known from home applications to Jaguar and Land Rover cars. This creates a natural language interaction with the Pivi Pro features - including navigation, media, playback, phone calls and compatible smart devices.As part of Jaguar Land Rover's Reimagine strategy, this quantum leap in connected services will offer customers a modern and luxurious user experience. He will also accelerate Jaguar Land Rover's transformation into a digital leader within the automotive industry.
