Beijing, Dec 5 (EFE/EPA).- Hungarian photojournalist Robert Capa arrived in China in 1938 after a long boat ride to work as a technician but he had another objective, to photograph the Sino-Japanese war that broke out a year earlier. His photographs have been exhibited in Beijing for the first time.Capa took hundreds of photographs during daily trips through 10 cities of impoverished rural China, trying to resist an invasion while a Communist revolution loomed in the background. It was in the northeastern city of Yan'an where troops of the Chinese communist revolutionary leader Mao Zedong were able to regroup, and it was there that another photographer Walter Bosshard photographed the leader. Some 140 works of both Capa and Bosshard were on display in The Race for China exhibition, organized by the Tsinghua University Art Museum, will run until 3 May.
