  • Condor Airline operates repatriation flight for EU tourists in Thailand

    Bangkok, Apr 7 (EFE/EPA).- European travelers waited on Tuesday to be repatriated from Thailand after the country banned entry of foreign tourists. Twelve Condor Airline charter flights are scheduled to arrive at Frankfurt, Germany, via Phuket and Bangkok.Thailand will repatriate European citizen of 11 countries, approximately 4,000 passengers, with support from the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM). The country has banned the entry of foreigners with the exception of those residing and working in the country, diplomats as part of the government's Emergency Decree which went into effect March 26 to help curb the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus outbreak which causes the COVID-19 disease.Thailand recorded 38 new cases Tuesday and one new death to bring the total to 2,258 and 27 respectively, while 824 patients have been discharged.
