Images of a street in Charly-sur-Marne, east of Paris, where a house fire killed seven children aged two to 14 and their mother on Sunday night. The woman's husband, father to three of the children, was seriously burned and transferred to a hospital. Authorities say the blaze was caused by a faulty dryer. IMAGES

The Congregation of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary ran the home between 1939-69 for mothers and their “illegitimate” children, who would be put up for adoption.
