The European Union and Tunisia sign a memorandum of understanding for a "strategic and comprehensive partnership" on irregular migration, economic development and renewable energy. At a press conference with Tunisia's President Kais Saied, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Italy's Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen says the EU and Tunis have signed "the memorandum of understanding on a strategic and comprehensive partnership" covering economic and migration issues. EU chief Ursula von der Leyen announces she would help organise a conference on securing the return of Ukrainian children taken to Russia during the ongoing conflict. "We are at the very beginning of very hard work, we aim to pull together international pressure to take all possible measures to establish the whereabouts of these children," she says. SOUNDBITE
In her annual State of the Union speech at the European Parliament in Strasbour, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen tells MEPs that she would travel to Kyiv to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. "Today I am going to Kyiv" to discuss "in detail" the Ukraine's entry into the single market with Ukraine's leader, she adds.
