As millions of voters head to the polls in the UK general elections, the country could be heading toward a hung parliament. In UK elections, a party must win at least 326 of 650 seats in the House of Commons to obtain an absolute majority. In the event that no party wins that number, a hung parliament occurs,, which means that no party has the majority.Without the cooperation of other parties, the party with the plurality of seats might not have enough votes to pass legislation. In this event, the largest parties -- either the Conservative Party or the Labour Party -- can attempt to form a coalition with other parties and reach a majority. If there is no ground for a coalition, the party with most seats will have to start negotiations with the other parties. The final results of the UK general elections are expected on May 8th in the afternoon.
