Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday placed the blame for the attack on the Capitol firmly at the feet of President Donald Trump. CNN reports the Kentucky Republican said on the Senate floor that Trump 'provoked' the violent insurrectionists on January 6th. The mob was fed lies. They were provoked by the President and other powerful people. US Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell McConnell's comments came as the Senate prepares to hold an impeachment trial over the House's charge of 'incitement of insurrection.' Asset manager BlackRock says that from ending political gridlock to producing sorely needed stimulus packages, the outcome could trigger an upturn.
Fox News host Chris Wallace moderated the first chaotic, shambolic presidential debate between President Donald Trump and opponent Joe Biden. Now, Business Insider reports Wallace says he was 'pissed off' by the behavior of Trump's family entourage. Upon being seated at the debate, Trump family members had removed their masks, violating agreed-upon debate rules. After I had the luxury to think about it, I was pissed off. I mean, did they think that the rules that applied to everybody else didn't apply to them? On Wednesday, the Vice Presidential Candidates Kamala Harris and Mike Pence debated. Who won the debate depends on which political party you belong to. Mike Pence insisted that despite 210,000 American deaths to COVID-19 President Trump and his administration have done an excellent job against the virus. HuffPo said Harris scored points by showing Pence's disconnection with the reality of the virus. Harris was also able to make points about health care that Joe Biden was not able to. Pence, for his part, tried to get Harris to answer simple questions about the Green New Deal and stacking of the Supreme Court.
