SEAT Alhambra - Crash & Safety Tests 2019

Description

The passenger compartment remained stable in the frontal offset test. Dummy readings indicated good protection of the knees and femursof the driver and passenger. A similar level of protection would be provided to occupants of different sizes and to those sitting in differentpositions. In the full-width rigid barrier test, protection of all critical body areas was good for the driver. However, for the rear passenger, dummy readings indicated a marginal level of protection for the chest. A penalty was also applied as a result of high shoulder belt forcesand protection of the chest was rated as poor. In the side barrier impact, all critical body areas were well protected and the car scoredmaximum points in this test. In the more severe side pole test, protection of the chest was adequate and that of other body areas wasgood. However, the side door of the car became detached during the test and the score was penalised for the risk of occupant ejection.Tests on the front seats and head restraints demonstrated good protection against whiplash injuries in the event of a rear-end collision. Ageometric assessment of the rear seats indicated marginal whiplash protection. The standard-fit autonomous emergency braking (AEB)system performed adequately in tests of its functionality at the low speeds at which many whiplash injuries occur.

  • 2022 SEAT Arona - Crash & Safety Tests

The new SEAT Ibiza and the new SEAT Arona maintain their flawless 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating, five years after they first achieved the impressive target. The recognition is even more impressive given how challenging Euro NCAP has made the testing process in recent years. The tests have become more rigorous and now include the introduction of a moving barrier to moving car frontal crash test, replacing the moderate offset-deformable barrier test. This helps Euro NCAP evaluate the protection of occupants inside the car, and how the cars’ front-end structurers contribute too. Add to this updated side impacts to include adjustments to the near-side barrier test speed and mass and far-side impact protection, focusing on driver protection and the potential interaction between driver and front seat passenger.

  • SEAT Leon - Crash & Safety Tests 2020

The all-new SEAT Leon has been awarded a five-star safety rating from testing organisation Euro NCAP. The result is a demonstration of the work completed during the Leon’s development to create a car that delivers one of the safest vehicles on the market, especially as Euro NCAP’s testing methods have become even more challenging in 2020.A key change for 2020 Euro NCAP’s testing procedures is the introduction of the moving barrier to moving car frontal crash test, replacing the moderate offset-deformable barrier test. The test helps the organisation to evaluate the protection of occupants inside the car, but also assesses how the cars’ front-end structurers contribute to.That isn’t the only change in the testing procedure. Side impacts have been updated to include adjustments to the near-side barrier test speed and mass, increasing the severity of the test. And for the first time Euro NCAP evaluates far-side impact protection, focusing on driver protection and the potential interaction between driver and front seat passenger.

  • BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé - Crash & Safety Tests 2019

The 2 Series Gran Coupe is based on the BMW 1 Series tested in 2019. Where necessary, additional tests have been performed and test results have been reviewed. Based on this analysis, Euro NCAP concludes that the rating of the 1 Series can be applied also to the 2 Series Gran Coupe, with the following exception: the 2 Series Gran Coupe and, since October 2020, the 1 Series are now equipped with front seats and head restraints which offer better whiplash protection than those originally tested in the 1 Series and the car qualifies for points in AEB City. As a consequence, the adult occupant score of the 2 Series is higher than that of the 1 Series.
