Now, Business Insider reports Bailey has lost part of his lower right leg and a big toe on his left foot, all amputated during an ongoing battle with COVID-19. Business Insider reports $35,000 has been raised through a GoFundMe campaign to help pay for Bailey's rehabilitation and 'staggering' medical bills. Bailey has been hospitalized with a severe case of coronavirus for three months but is reportedly recovering from the illness. Dozens of top administration officials and White House staffers have contracted COVID-19. President Donald Trump has consistently downplayed the threat. While Trump himself was hospitalized for several days after contracting the virus, he has told Americans not to 'be afraid of COVID.' He's also mocked those who wear face masks, and condemned aggressive state measures taken to slow the spread of the virus.
US stock markets opened with optimism Tuesday, as tens of millions of Americans head to the polls to decide who will be the next US president. According to Markets Insider, analysts say the upward bounce was a reaction to the end of the uncertainty surrounding who will get the top job. US President Donald Trump walked out in the middle of his scheduled interview with CBS News' '60 Minutes' on Tuesday. CNN reports that not only did Trump fail to complete his interview, he also didn't return for an appearance he was supposed to tape with Vice President Mike Pence. Trump sat down at the White House with host Lesley Stahl for about 45 minutes, then abruptly ended the interview. Sources say he told the network he believed they had enough material to use. Stahl previously said that in 2016, then-candidate Trump admitted his attacks on the press were meant to discredit negative stories that emerged about him. He said, 'You know why I do it?
