Jury Declare's Katy Perry A Plagerist

A jury has declared Katy Perry a plagerist. Christian rapper Flame sued Perry, claiming her 2013 song "Dark Horse" copied "Joyful Noise." The unanimous decision from a nine-person jury came after a weeklong trial. During the trial Perry testified about the track's creation, Variety reported. She was not in the courtroom when the verdict was read, the magazine said Flame said "Dark Horse" infringed on his copyright. He alleged the song used an underlying beat from his song without permission. The next phase of the trial will be the penalty phase, which will determine how much money Perry will pay Flame.
