A Frenchman who has spent years developing a jet-powered hoverboard zoomed across the Channel on Sunday, after a first attempt last month was cut short when he fell into the water while trying to refuel. Franky Zapata set off on his "Flyboard" from Sangatte on the northern coast of France for the 20-minute trip and landed at St. Margaret's Bay in Dover, on England's south coast. Daredevil French inventor Franky Zapata blasts off from Sangatte on the French coast at the start of his attempt to hover across the Channel standing on a jet-powered "flyboard". The ambitious crossing comes 110 years to the day after pioneer Louis Bleriot made the first airplane flight across the Channel on July 25, 1909. IMAGES
