Audi presented its most progressive compact model: The Audi A1 citycarver with its body raised by a good four centimeters (1.6 in) and its robust look is the powerful big brother of the A1 Sportback. With fresh colors, many customization options and top-of-the-line networking, the A1 citycarver presents itself as the Audi for young urban drivers.With a length of 4046 millimeters (159.3 in) and a width of 1,756 millimeters (69.1 in), the Audi A1 citycarver has almost the same dimensions as the A1 Sportback. However, it is five centimeters (2.0 in) taller than the Sportback, measuring 1,459 millimeters (57.4 in) in height, which makes it easier to get in and provides an even better overview. Roughly 35 millimeters (1.4 in) of its increase in height are due to the revised suspension, which has a larger jounce travel. The rest is due to the fact that its wheels are larger than those of the A1 Sportback. 16-inch wheels come as standard even with the entry-level engine variant. This gives the A1 citycarver 144 millimeters (5.7 in) of ground clearance between the axles- 41 millimeters (1.6 in) more than the A1 Sportback.The A1 citycarver also shares the taut exterior design with the broad track and short overhangs with its sister model. The powerful, slightly slanting C-pillar appears to accelerate the car even at a standstill and all the lines on the sides rise in a wedge shape toward the rear. The shoulder line creates strong contours above the wheels and continues at a slightly lower level on the doors, visually drawing down the center of gravity. At the front and the strongly modeled rear, the arrow-shaped layout of the light graphics (with the optional LED headlights) emphasizes the width of the body. Large air inlets and outlets underline the vehicle's sporty character.
The body of the new Audi A1 Sportback includes components made out of hot-formed steel that form the backbone of the passenger cell. The rigid body and exact fits guarantee sportily precise driving and the absence of intrusive noise on board. With a front area of 2.07 sq m (22.3 sq ft) and a drag coefficient of 0.31, the new Audi A1 Sportback offers very little windage.Whether running around town or going on a weekend excursion - its powerful engines in particular make driving the new Audi A1 Sportback so much fun. There is a choice of efficient gasoline engines with outputs ranging from 70 kW (95 hp) to 147 kW (200 hp). Turbocharging, direct injection and a particulate filter are standard.Audi is making a manual transmission or the seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission available for all engines. The exception is the top-of-the-range engine, where a six-speed S tronic transmission shifts gear as standard.
Audi is updating the flagship of the Q family with a pure design and upgraded technology. The revised exterior aesthetic with new front and rear aprons underscores the strong character of the SUV coupé. The optionally available S line exterior package caters to customers who desire more sportiness. For the first time, Audi is equipping the Q8 with HD Matrix LED headlights, including a laser as an additional high beam. These headlights feature digital daytime running lights and selectable light signatures. Digital OLED rear lights with four selectable rear light designs complete the expanded light offering. New wheels, colors, decorative inlays, and seats with contrast stitching highlight the car’s top position among the Q models. The new Audi Q8 starts at 86,700 euros.
More powerful and faster than any RS 6 and RS 7 to date: new Audi RS 6 Avant performance and the RS 7 Sportback performance are bursting with extras that sharpen the models’ appearance and make for a more emotive driving experience. The potent 4.0-liter V8 biturbo TFSI engine now has an engine power of 463 kW (630 PS) and a maximum torque of 850 Nm. From December 8, the RS 6 Avant performance and the RS 7 Sportback performance1 are available for 135,000 euros each.At Audi, ‘performance’ means more power. For example, larger turbochargers and an increase in boost pressure from 2.4 to 2.6 bar in the 4.0-liter V8 biturbo TFSI engine that both the RS 6 Avant performance and RS 7 Sportback performance boast, allow an increase of 30 PS in engine power and 50 Nm more torque compared to the base versions. This means a total increase in power from 441 kW (600 PS) to 463 kW (630 PS) and in maximum torque from 800 to 850 Nm. The performance models3 sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the RS 6 / RS 7 base versions.Yet less is sometimes more: reduced insulation between the engine compartment, the interior, and the rear of the vehicle ensures the RS 6 Avant performance and the RS 7 Sportback performance1 will thrill customers with an exciting, next-level sound experience – the reduction also makes the car eight kilograms lighter. The RS 6 Avant performance has a total unladen weight of 2,090 kg whilst the RS 7 Sportback performance weighs 2,065 kg.
Premium manufacturer Audi heralded in the age of e-mobility in 2018 with the launch of the Audi e-tron, marking the start of the electric future at the brand with the four rings. The SQ8 e-tron and SQ8 Sportback e-tron are both two millimeters flatter and 39 mm wider.
