A wildfire in the northern part of Tenerife island, affecting parts of the municipalities of Arafo and Candelaria, was approximately 130 hectares in size. According to the local authorities, it is a "complicated" area, and the main goal is to slow the advance of the fire towards inhabited areas. A number of villages have been evacuated as a precaution. Puerto del Rosario, Oct 19 (EFE).- A group of 125 migrants of sub-Saharan and Maghrebi origins arrived Tuesday morning in three boats at a port in Canary Islands, according to Spanish authorities.The first of the vessels, an inflatable boat, was located shortly before 11:00 pm Monday by a merchant en route about 84 kilometers south of Morro Jable, on the Canary Islands. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Oct 14 (EFE).- Spanish authorities rescued Thursday 30 sub-Saharan migrants from a boat 148 kilometers south of Gran Canaria as well as another group of 200 migrants traveling in another boat. They were all accompanied by the Spanish authorities to the port in Gran Canaria. Fuerteventura, Oct 11 (EFE).- Spain's Guardamar Talía rescued Monday 121 immigrants of sub-Saharan origin traveling in two inflatable boats near the south of Fuerteventura island, with 20 women and two minors on board, a spokeswoman for Maritime Rescue told EFE.The first boat was located about 97 kilometers south of Morro Jable town, with 51 men, 10 women and two children on board, while the second one was located by a rescue plane a little further north, about 53 kilometers from the island, with 48 men and 10 adult women. The lava flow produced by the Cumbre Vieja volcano falls into the Atlantic Ocean in Tazacorte on the Canary island of La Palma.
