The all-new Ford Explorer Plug-In Hybrid will be offered in two distinctive, high-specification, left-hand drive variants – the sporty, Ford Performance-inspired Explorer ST-Line and the luxurious Explorer Platinum.   • 2019 Ford Explorer Design Preview

    A number of consistent design qualities have helped define Explorer over the past 29 years, and the design team strived to hold on to these important pieces of heritage. Longtime traits - including Explorer's blacked-out A-pillars and D-pillars and body-color C-pillars - are retained. Changes to the overall profile include a more sloping roofline and shorter front overhang, giving the vehicle a sportier, more stylish appearance.Ford Explorer comes standard with 18-inch painted aluminum wheels, but across the lineup drivers can opt for one of seven wheel designs, including 21-inch premium aluminum wheels available on Platinum models. Other Platinum differentiators include door handles with satin aluminum insert, liftgate appliqué, lower bodyside cladding insert, roof-rack side rails and a unique grille with satin aluminum finish.Platinum models also feature a standard twin-panel moonroof, which allows light to flood the most comfortable Explorer cabin ever. Explorer Platinum includes special leather seats, plus leather-wrapped steering wheel, dashboard, door rollovers, and door and front console armrests.

  • 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Design Preview

    Mitsubishi has significantly improved its Outlander PHEV for the 2019 model year, with emphasis on mechanics and design. The 2.4-liter petrol engine is now more powerful than ever: it has 133 hp and 211 Nm instead of 121 hp and 190 Nm of torque. In addition, now there is the electric motor that adds 95 horses. Battery power has been increased by 10 percent, so its capacity of 13.8 kWh, thanks to new cells. Thanks to these improvements, Outlander PHEV will be the maximum, the electric drive to develop a speed of 135 km / h. Up to 100 km / h in 10.5 seconds, which is half a second less than the previous version. Max will accelerate to 170 km / h. On the other hand, a plug-in hybrid and emits zero will not exceed 45 km, with a consumption of 2 l / 100 km and 46 g / km CO2. In addition to improving the mechanical elements of the exterior design, the new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV in adding two new driving modes: Sport and Snow.     Hyundai’s Ioniq line-up continues to improve its product offering for the 2019 model year, with new and broader applications of active safety features, enhanced voice-recognition features and standard remote charge management for Plug-in and Electric models. In keeping with its exterior, the interior of Ioniq captures the model’s futuristic qualities. A smooth, elegant and clutter-free theme and efficient use of interior space complements a logical, structured approach applied to the layout of controls for intuitive operation. Materials for the interior were chosen with an ecologically-sensitive focus and are used to create a simple and clean look throughout the car, giving the interior a sleek, light and purified feel. The driver and passenger of the Electric model will also notice there is more room between the front seats. This is achieved via a shift-by-wire push-button drive selector free of mechanical linkage. The Ioniq Electric also features an electronic parking brake (EPB), conserving space in the center console.

In crafting the exterior appearance of Ioniq, Hyundai designers concentrated on its future-focused character, fundamental to its appeal. A fluid exterior shape and natural air flow channels emphasize aerodynamic body lines and surface volumes. A sporty, hatchback-like profile is inspired by aerodynamic efficiency, complementing the soft lines and surfaces that trace the car’s outline. These attributes combine to boost aerodynamics further, which, when combined with various other smart efficiency solutions, produce an industry-leading 0.24 coefficient of drag. In addition to Ioniq aerodynamics, further design details distinguish the Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid from the Electric models, creating their unique identities.
