The Italian Coast Guard deploys an underwater unmanned vehicle to search for six passengers missing after a luxury yacht sank off Sicily as hope fades that they will be found alive. The 56-metre (185 feet) British-flagged "Bayesian" was anchored some 700 metres from Porticello with 10 crew and 12 passengers on board when it was struck by a waterspout -- akin to a mini-tornado -- before dawn on Monday. Interim Ottawa Police Chief Steve Bell tells reporters that officers made 47 arrests Saturday in a final push to dislodge hundreds of protesters who have blocked the center of the Canadian capital for weeks. He also describes the moment a protester ignited a flare, saying that "officers used a chemical irritant also known as pepper spray to disperse unlawful demonstrators who were resisting police orders." Police used pepper spray in a number of confrontations and made over 200 arrests in Melbourne, as several hundred attendees flouted stay-at-home orders and marched through an inner-city suburb. Hong Kong police fire pepper ball rounds at protesters in the city's commercial district ahead of a debate in the legislature over a law that bans insulting China's national anthem. A few hundred protesters chanted slogans during a lunchtime rally in the city's Central district but dispersed when officers fired multiple rounds of irritant-filled pellets, AFP reporters on the scene said.
