Trump reportedly also raised the possibility of imposing a lower, 10% duty on a $300 billion list of Chinese imports, as opposed the proposed 25% rate. On Saturday, Trump is expected to meet with Xi in Osaka, a conversation that has the potential to revive stalled negotiations between the world's largest economies or propel it deeper into a costly trade war that would drag down global growth and roil financial markets.
