Images show the scene after a car tore through a pedestrian shopping street in the southwestern German city of Trier killing at least 4 people including a baby and injuring 15. Prosecutor Peter Fritzen said the driver, a 51-year-old Trier native, appeared to be suffering from "psychiatric problems" and had been under the influence of alcohol whilst at the wheel of his silver SUV. The car "bypassed measures designed to prevent access to this dual two-lane motorway" explained the prefect of the French southwestern department of Ariege Simon Bertoux, after an accident near a roadblock caused the death of a farmer in the department. SOUNDBITE
