Nicaragua estimates hurricane damage at $742 million, 5.9% of GDP

Managua, Nov 24 (EFE).- The Government of Nicaragua estimated Tuesday $742 million worth of damage caused by hurricanes Eta and Iota, which hit the Caribbean coast with category 4 on the Saffir-Simpson scale.The damage caused by both hurricanes are considered 5.93 percent of the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
