Victim urges South Korean govt to bring wartime sex slavery issue to ICJ

Seoul, Feb 16 (EFE/EPA).- Lee Yong-soo, an activist and victim of the Japanese military's sexual slavery during World War II, on Tuesday called for the South Korean government to bring the "comfort women" issue to the International Court of Justice.Some 200,000 girls and teenagers, most of them Korean, were forced to prostitute themselves to the Japanese Imperial troops stationed mainly in China and the Korean peninsula, from the 1930s to the end of World War II in 1945.
