Jaguar Classic has unveiled its first matched pair of E-type 60 Collection cars, and revealed full specification details for the 12 expertly restored and sympathetically uprated 3.8-litre E-types built to celebrate 60 years of the iconic sports car.The E-type made its world debut in Geneva, Switzerland on 15 March 1961. The public reaction to the lone coupé available for test drives was so strong that Jaguar rushed a second E-type, a roadster, from Coventry to Geneva overnight.Six decades later, the E-type 60 Collection pays tribute to these two legendary cars: the Opalescent Gunmetal Grey coupé ‘9600 HP’, driven ‘flat out’ by Bob Berry to make the launch itself, and the British Racing Green roadster ’77 RW’, driven by Norman Dewis who was told to ‘drop everything’ to get to Geneva the next day.The E-type 60 Collection cars, which are sold as a pair (one E-type 60 Edition coupé, one E-type 60 Edition roadster) are finished in exclusive Flat Out Grey and Drop Everything Green paint colours respectively. These colour formulations are inspired by the original 1961 colours and won’t be used on any other Jaguar.

Working closely with Bill Amberg to produce sumptuous bespoke leather interiors, our aim is to preserve the art of the E-type for the next generation, while elevating the driving experience and build to the pinnacle of contemporary luxury.Despite the beauty of its lines, the original E-type was beset with unreliable electronics, a troublesome carburetor and a less than luxurious black plastic interior: now, in introducing our first Roadster, we have reimagined a classic, fit for today’s standards. Helm is the culmination of a lifetime’s work for renowned restoration specialist Chedeen Battick, who boasts over a decade’s worth of experience restoring E-types. ‘I wanted to create the ultimate E-type: remaining sensitive to its history, but ensuring the drive, build and performance is as good as it can possibly be, using the finest materials and British craftsmanship combined with the finest standards of modern engineering, instilling a feeling of love, care and attention to detail within each component.’
2021 was a year that celebrated the peerless heritage, innovative present and sustainable luxury future of Jaguar; full of exciting new model releases, trailblazing brand partnerships and motorsport victories at the highest level.The year began with the first completed F-TYPE Heritage Edition models hitting the road, featuring a specially curated commemorative specification: 1960’s inspired Sherwood Green paintwork and Caraway and Ebony leather interior, the exclusive limited-run Jaguar features unique details inspired by the iconic E-type and celebrates 60 years of sportscar lineage.Shortly after, Jaguar UK welcomed the ‘E-type 60’ collection, inspired by the two E-types that first introduced this legendary sportscar to the world at the Geneva Motor Show: the Opalescent Gunmetal Grey coupé ‘9600 HP’, driven ‘flat out’ by Bob Berry to make the launch itself, and the British Racing Green roadster ’77 RW’, driven by Norman Dewis who was told to ‘drop everything’ to get to Geneva the next day. The E-type 60 Collection cars are sold as a pair.Bringing its story back to the present, Jaguar launched its new Jaguar F-PACE and ‘Hard to Forget’ campaign with DJ and producer MK. MK’s collaboration film was the first in a series from artists and renowned personalities from music and entertainment to photography and fashion. MK provided the soundtrack for, the ‘Hard to Forget’ series with exclusive new track Lies featuring Raphaella, released in January 2021.Hot on the heels of the new, improved F-PACE, Jaguar brought new life to its F-PACE SVR, XF saloon and Sportbrake and E-PACE models giving the full portfolio significant updates both inside and out. Advanced new technologies, sharp styling and new plug-in hybrid and mild hybrid engines were launched.
