Mainz, Mar 14 (EFE/EPA).- German Chancellor Angela Merkel's conservative Christian Democrats (CDU) suffered losses in in two vital state elections on Sunday, initial results showed. The state elections in Baden-Wuerttemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate mark the beginning of the so-called 'Superwahljahr' (super election year) culminating with the federal elections slated for 26 September 2021.
