Covid-19 lockdown extended in Jammu and Kashmir for another week

Srinagar, May 17 (EFE/EPA).- The Kashmiri authorities have extended the Covid-19 lockdown in Indian Kashmir until 24 May in view of surge in coronavirus-related cases and deaths in the region. India Monday reported 281,386 new Covid-19 infections, marking a further decline in daily reported cases but daily deaths remained above 4,000.Daily infections dropped below 300,000 for the first time since April 21, increasing the overall caseload in the country to 24.9 million.
