Flames and smoke rise from the site of an Israeli airstrike in Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip shortly before a ceasefire. Israel and Islamic Jihad militants on Sunday began a precarious truce aiming to end three days of intense conflict in Gaza that has left at least 44 Palestinians dead, including 15 children.
Israeli airstrikes on Gaza have killed around 30 people since Friday, while Palestinian rockets fired in retaliation reached western Jerusalem on Sunday.
Images show rockets fired from the Gaza Strip, said to be towards Tel Aviv according to Palestinian militant group of Islamic Jihad. Sirens warning of incoming fire were heard by AFP in south Tel Aviv moments after an AFP correspondent saw rockets being launched from Gaza. IMAGES
