(00:50-01:01) The court has investigated and indicated clearly that those deaths were caused by the operation carried out by the authorities, who claimed to receive an order from CRES (Centre for Resolution of Emergency Situation).2.) (01:07-01:49) Two people were charged over this; one is a former prime minister, another is a deputy prime minister. Both defended that this case did not fall under the jurisdiction of the criminal court, yet the director of the court of first instance argued that the murder charge and attempted murder charge, which could be concluded from the autopsy reports, was, in fact, under a criminal jurisdiction.3.) (01:58-02:28) It does not matter who you are, let’s set a date to talk about what happened. Because the truth is, this event has caused the most deaths ever recorded in the fight for democracy in Thailand. The event on Oct 14 recorded around 70 deaths. The event on Oct 6 recorded around 40 deaths. The Black May recorded around 80 deaths and disappearances. But there's almost a hundred of deaths during this event of April - May 2010.
Around a hundred protesters march in central Yangon to mark the anniversary of the 1962 Yangon university protests during which more than a hundred people died and thousands were arrested in a violent crackdown by the military regime. Myanmar has been in turmoil since the generals ousted Suu Kyi's government in February, with pro-democracy protests met by a brutal military crackdown that has killed more than 880, according to a local monitoring group.
