From the Rio Grande to New York City: the end of a perilous journey for migrants from Central America

Description

Apprehensions of undocumented migrants on the US border with Mexico soared 70 percent in March, hitting the highest level in 15 years. Every night on the Rio Grande, dozens of migrants from Central America cross over from Mexico and surrender to US Customs & Border Patrol agents. Sometimes just a few days later, some of them are released and make the final leg of a perilous journey, to be reunited with their loved ones already living in the US.
