US: Families of Covid-19 victims can apply for funeral cost reimbursements

Description

Starting on Monday, the US Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will start helping cover funeral costs for people who have died from Covid-19. Hari Close, owner of a funeral home in Baltimore, is working with families to let them know about the application process, and helping them apply. "It lessens our grief that we have from the passing of our dad," says April Bellamy, whose father died in February 2021. Families can apply for up to $9,000.
