COVID-19 cases hit record high in Indian state of Maharashtra


Mumbai, Feb 22 (EFE/EPA).- The Indian state of Maharashtra on Sunday recorded 7,000 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, the highest number that has ever been recorded in the state in the last three months.The local government has also imposed new restrictions, including the closure of bars and restaurants as well as a night curfew in several cities of the state.India has so far recorded more than 11 million cases and 156,000 deaths from COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
