By the time president-elect Joe Biden takes office in January, it's likely the COVID-19 crisis in the US will be even worse. Biden has already warned of a 'dark winter.' According to Business Insider, Biden made his plan to handle the pandemic back in March, and it hasn't changed much since then. First off? Testing--widely available, and completely free for all Americans. Next up: masks and lockdowns Biden says he'll work closely with governors to organize mask mandates, tailored to hot spots of disease outbreaks. After that, it'll be mending fences. Biden plans to restore the authority of the CDC and rejoin the World Health Organization. Additionally, there will be more PPE for front-line and essential workers, free COVID-19 treatment and vaccines for all Americans, and 100,000 more contact tracers.
Pres. Donald Trump and Dr. Anthony Fauci are on course for another, very public battle. According to CNN, Fauci questioned why Trump thinks mask wearing is weak. Fauci is the world's leading infectious disease specialist. He and the President are arguing as the pandemic begins the feared fall & winter spike. Trump has slammed Fauci repeatedly. Early in the pandemic Fauci said mask wearing was not necessary. "Let's see if we could put this to rest once and for all," Fauci said. "Cloth coverings work."
Fox News anchor and moderator of Tuesday's presidential debate, Chris Wallace is blowing the whistle on President Donald Trump and the Trump family. Wallace said Trump and his family did not arrive in Cleveland early enough to get tested for the coronavirus before the start of the debate. There was an honor system when it came to the people that came into the hall from the two campaigns. Chris Wallace On Friday morning, Trump announced he and first lady Melania Trump were diagnosed with the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. Wallace said that despite having agreed to wear masks throughout the debate, the Trump family removed theirs shortly after sitting down. Trump's opponent, Former Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, have both tested negative for the virus. Trump is currently being treated at Walter Reed Military Hospital. He will make no further public appearances until further notice.
