Berlin (Germany), Apr 15 (EFE), (Camera: María Garrido Sellabona).- Thousands of protesters - about 10,000, according to public local media- took to the streets of Berlin in protest against the ruling of the Constitutional Court that reversed the regional government law freezing rental prices.
PETA activists stripped down in freezing temperatures opposite Berlin’s Kaufhaus Jandorf for the opening of Berlin Fashion Week on Tuesday, baring their skin to shed light on the fashion world’s ties to animal cruelty. The protesters were wearing nothing but animal masks and underwear despite the frosty surroudings and held signs decrying the leather and fur industry. They also laid on the ground in front of cardboard gravestones, feigning death in a bid to highlight the plight of animals. Other demonstrators were seen handing out flyers supporting the PETA cause.
On the last day of Russia's presidential elections, set to cement Vladimir Putin's grip on power, the widow of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny widow, Yulia Navalnaya, tells the press after voting at the Russian embassy in Berlin that Putin is "a killer" and a "gangster. Crowds had earlier chanted: "Yulia, Yulia, we're with you," as she entered to cast her ballot. Alexei Navalny was Putin's most prominent rival, and died in an Arctic prison last month in mysterious circumstances. SOUNDBITE

Several hundred farmers and lorry drivers block the street in central Berlin to protest against cuts in public subsidies, following a week of demonstrations across Germany.
