Zimbabwe's relief kitchen distributes food amid pandemic

Harare (Zimbabwe), Dec 3 (EFE / EPA), (Camera: Aaron Ufumeli).- The charitable foundation Kuchengetana Trust founded by the Zimbabwean lawyer Samantha Murozoki has been feeding thousands of people in the country for the last 230 days at a time when families are struggling due to the Covid-19 pandemic. More than 3,000 children and adults benefit from her foundation, which is located in her hometown, Chitungwiza, 30 kilometres south of the capital, Harare.   • NGO World central kitchen offers meals to New York hospitals amid pandemic

It is part of an initiative by Spanish chef Jose Andres that provides a service for medical workers during the Covid-19 pandemic while doubling up as a business strategy to help restaurants weather the financial hit of coronavirus restrictions. “If there is an emergency, those restaurants are closed, so what better way to put them to use than to serve those who need it,” Andres tells Efe in an interview.
