Tokyo, Apr 29 (EFE/EPA).- The number of daily Covid-19 infections in Tokyo on Thursday crossed 1,000 for the first time since the end of January, while the Japanese capital and other regions of the country remain under a health emergency due to a surge in cases.The Tokyo metropolitan area recorded 1,027 new cases, showing a continued increase in infections in the capital as a part of the fourth wave across the country.In Osaka prefecture, the hardest hit by the current wave of infections, there were 1,117 new cases reported on Thursday and a record 44 daily deaths.
