  • President-elect Biden to ask Americans to wear masks for 100 days, ‘a very political decision in US’

In the United States, president elect Joe Biden has announced that one of his first acts when sworn in on January 20, 2021, will be to ask Americans to wear a mask for 100 days. He won’t mandate mask-wearing but only require Americans to do so, as he announced during a press conference on Thursday, where he also said he will be taking a Covid-19 vaccine publicly, in order to demonstrate that the vaccine is safe, as FRANCE 24’s correspondent Kethevane Gorjestani reports from Washington.

  • 100 days in office: how does Joe Biden stack up?

This week, Joe Biden marks a milestone in every American president's legacy: his first 100 days. There's nothing specific in US law saying what a president needs to accomplish in that time-frame, but decades of traditions have made it the standard used to judge just how well a new president is faring.
