Since the Feb. 1 military coup, at least 275 people have been killed by security forces and 2,812 detained, according to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners. Colombo, Mar 10 (EFE/EPA).- Dozens of people gathered outside Myanmar's embassy in the Sri Lankan capital, Colombo, Wednesday to reject the violence and repression of protesters by the military junta. Myanmar and Sri Lanka mostly enjoy close relations where Buddhism is concerned. In a coup d'état on the morning of 01 February 2021, the democratically elected members of Myanmar's ruling party, the National League for Democracy, were deposed by Myanmar's military, and the country is currently ruled by its military junta.
