An industrial warehouse full of booths to dignify the homeless in England

Description

Stoke-on-Trent (UK), Mar 5 (EFE).- (Camera: Clàudia Sacrest) A large industrial warehouse in the center of England houses individual huts that give about forty homeless people the possibility of having decent accommodation to help them reintegrate into society.FOOTAGE OF THE WAREHOUSE AND ITS BOOTHSSOUNDBITES BY SEVERAL HOMELESS PEOPLETRANSLATION1.- Charlie Railton, 24 years old, resident of the center:-00: 41: “Sofa, television, warmth, heating, bed ... Everything that a common house has. We have to leave the barracks to go to the bathroom but in the end we pay nothing and we benefit from a house. Okay, okay. There are some problems sometimes, but in the end we are all in the same boat. "2.- Terry Beckett, 34 years old, resident of the center:-01: ??07: I have my own space here, I think I can think more when I'm in the booth. I do more things for myself, buy more things for myself, food things ...3.- Thomas Preston, 61 years old, resident of the center:-01: ??30 I can close my door, you have the showers there, everything is fine.4.- Lou Macari, founder of the center (71 years old):-02: 12: Having their own house number is a great help, because it gives them for the first time a property with a number, which helps when looking for a job. When they go to the job search center, they always ask you for your address and they didn't have one before.5.- Lou Macari-03: 46: You can stay here as long as you want, there is no time limit. We look to serve them as well as we can, achieve as much as we can, and help them improve and move forward. This is not easy.6.- Charlie Railton:04:03: I've been to jail seven times and I'm only 24 years old. Thefts, shoplifting ... for drugs. It's not okay, it's not okay ...7.- Thomas Preston:-04: 13: I spent time in Birmingham. I had a good time, but they with me... not so much / It was a little crazy in those days. Do you know when you are young? You think you can do anything, right? When you get older, then you realize that you can't.
