Living in a beguinage in the 21st century

Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), Mar 6 (EFE), (Camera: Leo Rodríguez).- At nine in the morning, after the prayer, everyone returns to their duties. Although it looks like a picture of the 13th century, this is the daily life of many groups of older people in Belgium who have recovered the concept of beguinage so as not to live alone. Beguinages were a communal residence very popular in the 13th century among women -religious or not- in the northern areas of France, Belgium and the Netherlands with small houses arranged around a collective garden.
