France's controversial secularism law reopens wounds

Description

Paris, March 6 (EFE), (Camera: Antonio Torres del Cerro/Martí Rodríguez).- A new law in defence of secularism that is being presented in the French Parliament has exposed the wounds of a society traumatized by the Islamist terror attacks. FOOTAGE OF THE Great Mosque of Montreuil AND OF THE TOWN OF MONTREUIL. INCLUDES SOUNDBITES OF: -FARID SLIM, IMAM:"Acts of terrorism are an act of disorder that has nothing to do with religion. Today we are going to find a series of unbalanced people who are going to seek legitimacy for their actions under the pretext of religion. This is how we have seen it with the massacre in Norway, with more than 70 deaths at the hands of a Christian fanatic."-SABINE THILLAYE, MEMBER OF THE FRENCH NATIONAL ASSEMBLY:"We could not focus on a single cult, but we had to pay attention to financing, to see where the financing of some comes from, the associations, forcing them precisely to have a letter of principles (republicans), to have a sort control over what it is happening, especially when we talk about sports clubs with young people. An important issue is also home instruction."
