Outgoing US Attorney General Bill Barr most likely infuriated President Donald Trump even more on Monday. That's when he said he wouldn't be appointing special counsels to investigate either President-elect Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden or election fraud Business Insider reports Trump has reportedly pushed for conservative attorney Sidney Powell as a special prosecutor to investigate the matter. Powell was kicked off Trump's legal team after promoting a number of fringe conspiracy theories about election fraud. Barr's announcement signals another significant break with the president, who continues to insist the election was somehow stolen from him. US Attorney General William Barr did not want the Department of Justice to reveal it was investigating Hunter Biden before the 2020 presidential election. According to Business Insider, Barr went to great lengths to prevent prosecutors and senior DOJ officials from disclosing it was probing Hunter Biden's taxes. There were at least two separate investigations into Biden's finances, one in the Delaware US attorney's office and another in the Manhattan US attorney's office. The latter initially started off as a money-laundering probe but has since fizzled out because of a lack of evidence. The revelation by the Wall Street Journal adds to a growing list of frustrations President Donald Trump has with Barr. In fact, it may be the final straw for Trump, who may fire the attorney general weeks before leaving office.

According to Business Insider, Trump is itching to fire Attorney General Barr and reportedly held a meeting to discuss firing him. However, a source says Barr 'cannot be intimidated' by Trump and thinks the president's attacks are a 'deposed king ranting.' Trump has called a 'big disappointment' in a retweet of a message that suggested Barr should be fired immediately. The source says the public feud between Barr and Trump is like a 'cold war,' and that Barr is 'not someone who takes bullying and turns the other cheek.'

According to Business Insider, ardent Trump supporters grew impatient enough with the impasse that they showed up at AG William Barr's home to demand action. A dozen men showed up outside the Attorney General's home in the Washington, DC, suburb of McLean, Virginia on Saturday evening. They wore pro-Trump and anti-Biden shirts with messages like 'Biden Lies Matter,' 'Equal Justice Is Coming,' and 'Crooked Hillary for Prison.' The demonstrators called on Barr to 'lock up' Biden. Barr came out, shook their hands, and posed for photographs with them.
